Please read the following notice from Dick Fisher (Cabin 85) regarding the urgent road repair that is currently occurring at the Keystone Point Turnaround:
NOTICE RE ROAD REPAIR WORK AT KEYSTONE POINT TURNAROUND: There has been severe flood erosion damage to the eastern edge of the paved Keystone Point Road Turnaround, and also to the dirt road adjoining the Turnaround and heading due East toward Papoose Bay and points south and uphill – making that access road impassable and dangerous until repaired.
Those repairs that are now underway, and planned to be completed by tomorrow (Friday) evening if at all possible. In the meantime, that portion of the Turnaround and that unpaved road must both remain closed and unusable.
However, Keystone Point proper (the dirt road that leads north from the Turnaround) should remain accessible by heading the wrong way (left) at the Turnaround, thus avoiding the damaged area – though possibly subject to short delays due to the repair work underway. Please proceed only with great caution.
Also, in a separate maintenance project, we are trying to schedule slurry-coating to re-seal the entire paved Keystone Point Road as soon as possible, from the highway down to Turnaround. We do not yet have confirmed dates for that project. The road will need to be closed for a limited period of time for that maintenance work. Planning for that closure will include advance notice to cabin owners, and will be scheduled for weekdays so that weekend cabin use is not curtailed.
Many thanks to Mark Bulot and Ken Masters for coordinating this repair and maintenance work.
