The Forest Service has announced the appointment of Danelle D. (“DD”) Harrison as Forest Supervisor of the San Bernardino National Forest, effective August 1, 2021.
Harrison began her career with the Forest Service in 1999 as a seasonal trail crew member on the North Bend Ranger District of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and worked for several seasons on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, both of which are located in Washington State.
Harrison has most recently been the Deputy Forest Supervisor for the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and came to that position in 2018 from the Kaibab National Forest in Arizona, where she served as the District Ranger for both the Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts since 2014.
Danelle has been invited to the August 14 SBNF Cabin Coalition meeting and she has replied that she will attend if her schedule allows. we may get more insight then about any planned changes that might affect our local relationship with the Forest Service.
