According to a CalTrans Commuter Alert, State Route 18 (Big Bear Blvd.) will be closed in both directions from Big Bear Dam to Modoc Drive (see map) for a “grind and pave” project, weekdays beginning Monday, October 14 till Friday, October 25, 2024, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Access to the Southwest Shore during that period will be limited, at least on Monday through Friday. On the weekend of Oct. 19-20, the Southwest Shore appears to be accessible from 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon till 6:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
