Each year the Forest Service collects an Annual Permit Fee (aka Land Use Rent Bill) from each Recreational Residence Permittee. Each cabin permittee should have received a Bill and a Cover Letter sometime in November. The Permit Fee for 2020 was due on January 1, 2020. If you have any questions about the bill or about the payment of the bill, please call Sonny Rivera at the Forest Service office: (909) 382-2929 or santiano.rivera@usda.gov.
The attached Forest Service Cover Letter, signed by District Ranger Marc Stamer, includes a list of common issues that arise in the use and maintenance of our cabins (i.e., Recreation Residences.) We include the list here for your reference.
Residency. Recreation residences may not be used as a principal residence.
Rental Restrictions. Rental is strictly prohibited without prior written approval from the District Ranger.
Vehicle Parking and Storage, Unregistercd or inoperable vehicles are not allowed on the premises. The recreation residence lot is not an appropriate storage area for motor homes, trailers, or similar items. Storage of off-highway vehicles and motorboats must be approved in the O&M Plan. Seasonal removal is required. Kayaks, canoes, and other non-motorized recreation equipment may be stored in or under permitted structures.
Use of Approved Colors. The exterior color of all improvements must be compatible with the forest setting, and provide a quality visual experience for all forest visitors. Obtain approval from the Forest Service prior to painting any exterior surface. Only those paint colors that are similar to or match a Forest Service approved color will be accepted for use.
Signs. Posting "Private Property" or "No Trespassing" signs is prohibited. All signs must have a rustic appearance and must be approved by the District Ranger prior to installation.
Sheet Plastics and Tarps. Tarps may be used as a temporary covering for protection from the elements. Colors should blend with the natural environment. Blue tarps are not appropriate and are not approved.
Landscaping and Gardening. Use of non-native vegetation is prohibited. All other plantings must be approved in advance.
Please remember that construction on the exterior of the cabin and ground disturbance must be screened and pre-approved by the Forest Service in writing.
